Basic integration with WhatsApp and Viber

Can you imagine your life without messengers? We can’t either. According to statistics, WhatsApp has more than 2 billion users and Viber is used by more than 260 million people. That is why we’ve worked on new integrations to create more communication channels for your customers. So here it is — the basic integration with WhatsApp and Viber.

What does the basic integration mean?

Basic integration with WhatsApp allows you to send already configured message templates and open WhatsApp chats with customers in the desktop app just in a few clicks. Simply hover over the client's phone number and choose the "Open chat in WhatsApp" option.

Then, you’ll see a dialogue window in which you can choose a message template and edit it if it’s needed.

Note that some of variables in message templates work only if you send message message from corresponding document. For example, variables connected to work orders will work only if you send message from Work order table or Work order dialogue window. But if you send message with these variables from Client table or Client profile, they won't work.

When you click on the Send button, you can open a direct chat with a customer in WhatsApp.

Basic integration with Viber works a bit differently. It allows you to open a chat with a client in the desktop app immediately after choosing the "Open chat in Viber" option. This is due to the fact that there is no technical possibility to transfer the message text from Orderry to Viber.

To start using the integrations you need to follow a few steps:

  1. Download the WhatsApp and/or Viber app on your PC. This step is mandatory.
  2. In Orderry, navigate to the Settings > Integrations page and find WhatsApp and Viber messengers. Click on the Configure button.
  3. Tick the checkbox "Integration enabled" and save the setting.

Note that you can always find the step-by-step instruction on WhatsApp and Viber integration setup in the Help Center.

The next step in the development of messengers will be the integration with the WhatsApp business API to enable automatic sending of notifications to the messenger.
